Visited Jantar Mantar in Delhi recently, and my first reaction on seeing the structures was unexpected — the architecture instantly reminded me of Dada art from Europe. The shapes look abstract and almost surreal at first glance. But once you realize these are actually 18th-century astronomical instruments built by Sawai Jai Singh II, it becomes even more fascinating. It’s amazing how science was expressed through such bold architectural forms centuries ago. The entry ticket is just ₹20, and you can comfortably explore the site in about 45–60 minutes. It’s very close to Connaught Place, so it’s easy to include in your plan if you’re nearby. A short but intellectually interesting visit. It’s a set of old Indian astrological instruments. It’s very impressive but it could use some better management. The paint is coming off and there is not much to see. Also there is not much information on the use of the jantar mantar or its history apart from a few boards. Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes

Not really into astronomy, the entrance price felt a bit high. But I forgot straight away when I admired these crazy installations. Really photogenic Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No

I had no idea how it worked, and no one was around to explain (I did not ask anyone). There is nothing exceptional to see there, but if you are in Delhi and have limited time to visit a new area, you can visit. Also you can spend some good time here. It is an astronomical observatory featuring a collection of unique architectural astronomical instruments. Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes

Nothing much to do here. Also you will not understand much without guide which is not available. Visit only if you have time to kill or genuinely into architecture and design.

Jantar Mantar is an 18th-century astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II (around 1724) with giant stone and marble instruments that were historically used to measure time, track celestial bodies, and study astronomy — basically an open-air science museum of the past. Jantar Mantar Connaught Place, Delhi Opening Time 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM A fascinating blend of science, history, and architecture! Jantar Mantar in Delhi is an incredible reminder of India's advanced astronomical knowledge in the 18th century. The massive stone instruments are both impressive and educational, and the site is well maintained. Located right in the heart of the city, at Sansad Marg, near Connaught Place, it offers a calm, thought-provoking break from the busy surroundings. A must-visit for history lovers and anyone curious about astronomy. Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No

Jantar Mantar in Delhi is a fascinating historical observatory built in 1724 by Maharaja Jai Singh II. Located near Connaught Place, it houses a collection of massive astronomical instruments designed to study the movements of the sun, moon, and planets. The site beautifully blends science and architecture, with its striking geometric structures and giant sundials that still draw the curiosity of visitors today. Though surrounded by modern buildings that slightly affect its original purpose, Jantar Mantar remains a symbol of India’s scientific heritage. Visitors often praise its unique design and easy accessibility but note that the experience can feel brief unless you have a guide to explain the instruments’ functions. Overall, it’s a short yet meaningful stop for anyone interested in astronomy, architecture, or Delhi’s rich history. Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No
