⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A fascinating place to explore the history of astronomy, especially with children. The huge astronomical instruments give a unique glimpse into how people studied time and celestial movements centuries ago, before modern technology. The place is also very well known among the youth for hosting protests and public demonstrations, giving Jantar Mantar a unique identity beyond its historical significance. For tourists, I would recommend planning around 1 hour to explore the observatory, understand the instruments and appreciate its history. A nice place to visit. One has to buy Tickets either offline by cash for Rs 25 or online for Rs 20 (QR to scan is already given outside the gate). Nothing much to see but there are places to sit and enjoy there. Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No
The beautiful architecture has been well maintained and preserved. Jantar Mantar in delhi is an incredible place to explore—the walls and structures here have so much to say about India’s rich history. Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure
Jantar Mantar is truly a fascinating place where history, science, and architecture come together. Visiting it feels like stepping back in time to when astronomical observations were made without modern technology, yet with incredible accuracy. The collection of instruments here—massive sundials, celestial observation tools, and various geometric structures—are not only scientifically important but also visually stunning. Each monument has a purpose, from tracking star positions to predicting eclipses, and you can still imagine how scholars centuries ago used them. What I appreciated most was the way the site reflects India’s scientific heritage. The structures are so precise and carefully designed that they continue to spark curiosity even today. If you’re someone who loves astronomy, history, or architecture, this place is a gem. The grounds are well-maintained, though I’d recommend hiring a guide or using the audio guide, as it helps you understand the function of each instrument much better. Without it, the place can just look like a collection of unusual stone structures.
Visited Jantar Mantar recently for a college history project, and it turned out to be a really smooth and enriching experience. As a student, it felt great to explore such an important historical and astronomical site in person. I really liked the overall area around Jantar Mantar, it’s well-maintained and has a calm vibe despite being in a busy part of the city. One thing that stood out was how quick and hassle-free the entry process was. The Archaeological Survey of India has made it very convenient with QR-based online ticket scanning, so you can book in advance and enter without wasting time in long queues. Overall, it’s a great place for students, history lovers, and anyone interested in science and heritage. Definitely worth visiting! Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes
Definitely an architectural achievement by people of old era, right in the middle of Delhi. Visit in early morning or late evening in Summer season. Just a couple of minutes walk from Janpath metro station. Visited on Public holiday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No
I recently visited Jantar Mantar for a solo date, and it turned out to be a really lovely experience. It’s very close to Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, so I walked from there, which made the visit even nicer. For Indians, the entry fee is ₹25, but if you book online it’s ₹20, which is a small tip worth knowing. Even though I went on a Saturday, the place wasn’t crowded at all. It was calm, quiet, and perfect for slow exploration. I took my time walking around and honestly enjoyed every corner of it. I especially liked the back area more. There’s proper space to sit and relax, and I even ate my food while sitting there. It felt peaceful, and I managed to click some really good pictures too, so overall it was a win-win visit. One small thing to keep in mind: there are quite a few couples around, especially in the back sitting area. If you’re visiting as a couple, you’ll probably enjoy that space more. If you’re visiting with family, you might want to stick to the main areas and avoid the back section. Apart from that, Jantar Mantar is a beautiful, underrated place with a calm vibe and a great experience overall. Definitely worth visiting if you’re nearby. Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is such an incredible place to explore! It’s hard to believe how accurately those massive instruments could calculate time, positions of planets, and so many astronomical details centuries ago — all without any modern technology! Absolutely mind-blowing Everything is beautifully maintained, and walking among those ancient structures feels like stepping into a scientific wonderland. The precision and creativity behind each design truly show how advanced our ancestors were. It’s a must-visit spot in Jaipur — both educational and awe-inspiring! I honestly couldn’t stop saying “wow” at every step! Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No
Good place to visit in Delhi. It is very big garden with some historic monuments. Earlier people use to measure time using these structures over here. Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No
