Had the opportunity to see this historic monument in the day and night. Certainly worth taking the time to do both. Lots of young people around offering to take your photo with your phone. Not a smart idea tourist. War museum is just behind the India Gate so lots to see.
India Gate is an iconic war memorial that looks incredibly grand, especially when it is beautifully lit up after sunset. The atmosphere here is very patriotic, cheerful, and full of life, making it a perfect spot for an evening walk or a family picnic. It is open 24 hours a day and there is no entry fee, though the evenings and weekends get heavily crowded with visitors and street vendors selling ice cream and snacks. Walking down the newly renovated Kartavya Path leading up to the monument is a great experience.
