Disappointing Experience at Preeti Gera Academy Adding to my previous review about the misleading information regarding the batch size and the rude behaviour I experienced, I would also like to mention another issue that genuinely shocked me regarding the products and materials. Even after booking my seat, I was not provided with a complete product or material list in advance. Instead, students were informed about certain requirements only on the first day and asked to arrange them by the very next day. For example, during the hair classes, we were suddenly asked to arrange a dummy, stand and other materials. For students travelling two or three hours to the academy, arranging everything overnight is obviously not practical and without the required materials, we would simply miss out on the practical learning very next day. The academy offered to provide all the hair related materials directly and because we were informed about them at the last moment, I had to purchase them from the academy. However, when I later checked the market, I found similar products for almost 50% less than what the academy had charged. I noticed a similar approach with the makeup products. During the introduction session, Preeti mam showed us a video of one of her students whose makeup, according to the video, had been done using products purchased from elsewhere and was shown to have turned out extremely poorly. However, having worked as a mua myself, I can confidently say that, in my professional opinion, the makeup shown appeared to have been intentionally done in that manner. It gave the impression that the poor result was because the products had been purchased from outside the academy, which I felt could easily mislead beginners into believing that they must purchase products from the academy to achieve good results. To me, this came across as a technique to encourage students to buy their products directly from the academy. My concern is not about where students choose to purchase their products, but I felt there was considerable pressure on students to purchase products and materials directly from the academy, especially when they were not given the requirements in advance and had very little time to arrange them elsewhere. Adding to this, my experience on the very first day also made me feel that there was a significant difference between the image portrayed on Instagram and the personality I experienced in person. I personally found the environment and interaction quite uncomfortable and so much unnecessary drama. I understand that maintaining a strong presence and image on social media is important, but at the end of the day, this is a service based business and an educational environment. Teacher should behave like a teacher not like a celebrity. Personally, this was simply not the kind of learning environment in which I felt comfortable. I had simply stood up for myself. Other students may have had their own reasons for not backing out as some were from different cities, living in PGs, or had made significant arrangements around the course. Everyone has their own circumstances. I was fortunate enough to feel comfortable taking a stand for myself, and I believe students should never be made to feel wrong for doing so as nobody is going to pay for someone else. BECAUSE EVERYONE’S MONEY IS HARD EARNED AND VALUABLE.

By far, the best mentor I could have ever asked for! ❤️ I would definitely recommend Preeti Gera Academy to anyone who wants to learn makeup—even if you don’t know anything about makeup to begin with. She is truly one of the best educators, and you’ll learn everything from the basics to advanced techniques, while building confidence and developing great skills. ✨ But she’s not just a mentor to me—she’s like a mother. 🤍 She has taught me so much beyond makeup; she has taught me valuable life lessons, supported me, encouraged me, and always made me feel loved. And honestly, I absolutely love the entire team. ❤️ All the staff members and senior artists are so calm, patient, supportive, and understanding with us. They never make you feel uncomfortable for asking questions and are always willing to guide and help. The love, support, and warmth I’ve received from the entire team are truly beyond words. 🥹✨ I’ll forever be grateful that I got the opportunity to learn from such an amazing mentor and such a beautiful team.
