US stock का after-hours price और closing price अलग क्यों है?

एक company की earnings के बाद headline में share बढ़ता दिखता है, लेकिन market close वाला chart नीचे है। जरूरी नहीं कि दोनों में से एक गलत हो। हो सकता है एक quote regular session का हो और दूसरा extended-hours trading का।

SEC की basic explanation

Investor.gov की SEC bulletin regular market hours से पहले या बाद की trading को extended-hours context में समझाती है। Bulletin lower liquidity, wider spreads और execution से संबंधित risks बताती है।

इसलिए after-hours quote को अगली regular opening का guaranteed price न मानें। अगली session तक नई information और orders आ सकते हैं।

Screen पर तीन labels देखें

सबसे पहले session का नाम पढ़ें। फिर timestamp और timezone। तीसरा, percentage किस reference price से calculate हुआ है, यह देखें। अलग bases से निकले percentages को जोड़ देना गलत reading बना सकता है।

यदि screenshot में session label कट गया है तो original page खोलें। Message forward होने का समय price quote का समय नहीं होता। Earnings report की publication date और market quote की date भी अलग हो सकती है।
