Nikkei की official factsheet Nikkei 225 को price-weighted equity index बताती है। Japan Exchange Group की FAQ price-weighted Nikkei और capitalization-weighted TOPIX के फर्क का अलग सवाल रखती है।

इस distinction का मतलब है कि headline number के पीछे calculation का तरीका देखना जरूरी है। किसी एक company का असर हर index में बिल्कुल समान हो, यह मानना सही नहीं।

Simple comparison कैसे करें?

पहले दोनों screens की date और session मिलाएं। फिर percentage change देखें। सिर्फ absolute points की तुलना अधूरी होगी। Index के level अलग होने से समान points का relative अर्थ बदल सकता है।
