“Really poor experience at this cinema hall. The entire place smelled strongly of paan, which was honestly disgusting and ruined the atmosphere. The seats were unhygienic and poorly maintained. To top it off, there was ceiling plaster falling off the walls — seriously? Feels like the place hasn’t been maintained in years. Definitely not worth the ticket price. Won’t be coming back unless major improvements are made.”

However, with the advent of multiplexes and changing entertainment preferences, single-screen theaters like Golcha faced challenges. The cinema's decline was further exacerbated by economic factors such as demonetization and increased entertainment taxes, leading to a significant drop in footfall. Despite efforts to modernize, the theater eventually closed its doors in 2016, marking the end of an era for Delhi's moviegoers. Today, Golcha Cinema remains a nostalgic symbol of Old Delhi's cinematic past. While it no longer screens films, its legacy endures in the memories of those who experienced its charm. The building still stands on Netaji Subhash Marg, its Art Deco façade a silent witness to the golden age of cinema
