Great market for a true Bengali, great food and atmosphere. Fish market is great. But the cost of the fishes are sky touching so don't recommend anyone to purchase from there. They are only doing ethical looting to those who are new and are lesser known to the current ongoing prices. The rates are 2-3 times higher than any other market areas.

Great food for joint food and if you wish to buy any items related to Bengali culture. A good fish market is there to buy raw fish and prawns. A good place to hangout with family (for foody people).

This market in Delhi, gives you a feel of West Bengal. Has a lot of eateries, serving lip smacking bengali food & snacks. You get all bengali spices & sauce which may not be available else where in Delhi. Fresh Bengali fish is available here. We also found a Kali Bari ( Kali Temple), and witnessed the evening prayer (Sandhya Arati)

Food served here is okay, not so great in taste and also a little costly as compared to other places. I have ordered Bhetki fish fry & Egg devil chop and both of them was not fresh, fish fry was smelling from inside. I would recommend visiting market no 2 as the taste there is more authentic & reasonable price

I recently visited this market in morning time on weekend. You will find fresh veggies and fresh meat,fish in the market. Overall i had a nice experience visiting there and for street food options majority of stalls were closed in morning so they might start their food stalls in the afternoon or after noon hours only!
