Bought a rug. Commented to the fella that I liked the action of the pen I used to sign the slip. His manager comes over and whispers something in his ear. I didn’t hear what was said - but it was something along the lines of, give that gringo the pen. I still have it.
Seems that this company approaches tourists the same way. We got stopped in the street while walking in Delhi by a ‘ undercover police officer’. He organised a tuk tuk to take us to Indian loom. Went inside we got shown how to make rugs and we then offered to buy one for £1000 which we did not need. After a repetitively saying no to the persuasion we were made to look around the rest of the shop in case you wanted to buy something which we didn’t. It seems to be that this is the case for many other tourists in Delhi as they get stopped on around the same street that we were and then taking her in an attempt to be scammed.
Great variety, good quality, nice staff, specially Rachna, who was a good help in the shopping experience! Good value for quality.
Renuka was great help picking my beautiful saree. It was wonderful and we also got a fantastic tunic. Highly recommend!!!
I had an excellent experience here. I was referred here by my travel agent because I needed to choose fabric and have a lehenga and a sari made for a wedding I would be attending in 10 days. I cam in on 25 December, 2023 and my outfits were ready on 1 January, 2024. The wedding was on the 3rd. Sanjeev led the way and managed the entire experience, From picking out fabrics to explaining what I needed very clearly, to the lovely hospitality, everything was easy. The only thing difficult was choosing among the fabrics. My outfits were ready when they said they would be and the tailoring was great! Beautiful work. I couldn't be happier. I did not look or buy at any of the other stores within this mall.
Be careful and don't be fooled like I was. 👉🏻 6000 rupies for a pashmina 👉🏻 20000 rupies for a saree (which thankfully I didn't buy) Note: they justified the high price saying that it was the highest quality. Later on my trip I showed the pashmina to several Indian friends, they all told me that the quality was average and the maximum price should have been 2000 rupies. ❗️Side note: I ended up to this shop through a guided tour on the app GerYourGuide. My guide's name was SAURABH ANAND, who works for the agency ARIF DELIGHT TOURS. At the end of the 1-day tour Delhi and New Delhi he suggested me to go to this shop where they sell products from Kashmeer. During the whole tour Saurabh was friendly and seemed serious and professional, so I trusted him. While I was in the shop I felt pressured to buy, the super kind shop assistants never leave you alone for a moment. I felt almost guilty for not buying anything. I asked Saurabh what he thought about the prices and he said that they were fair (which later proved to be a lie). Now I know that he probably took a percentage on the amount that I spent in that shop. I don't know if Arif Delight Tours is involved as well. Now I also understand why Saurabh pushed me to immediately write a good review on GetYourGuide that same evening (it's not possible to edit the reviews on the app, however I managed to have my positive review removed after contacting the customer assistance). I hope this review can help other tourists avoid this unpleasant experience.
Great shop! They had everything we wanted and accommodated us with grace. Ask for Sagar and Tauheed when you go- they are the best!
what can I say... everything has already been mentioned. it's just stupid that I only saw this after that. someone was also very friendly with me and told me about the Indian loom. so I went there. I am already used to intrusive sellers and so I fought my way through to the scarves, which were the reason for my visit. the sellers are super trained in what they do and so I bought souvenirs for the whole family. 6 scarves, increasing best quality, 100% pashmina hand-woven. Price per piece 20000 Rs. A hand-embroidered masterpiece is also among them, price 70000 Rs. I don't know the prices in India and can only compare what it would cost at my home. it's ok for that, but an Indian colleague told me that such a scarf is worth about 2000 to 5000 Rs. along with the other reviews, I now feel like I'm being screwed... an other one told me, if it is 100% real handmade pashmina, the price is ok. So i don't know... what remains is a bad feeling. i just hope that it is at least hand-woven and also 100% pashmina.
Best purchase expirence ever. Have a very good conversation and transaction with Renuka aunty thoughout the whole process. Things we purchased: 1. Shervani 2. Half coat 3. Kurta ×3 4. Mojri Would recommend my friends and family as first preference instaed of romaing around in chandni chok
RIKSHA SCAM!!! I think it is really low and disgusting the way they scam tourists to their shop. We wanted to visit the shops at connaught place, suddenly a man came to us. That we are walking the wrong way and that it is not safe. He told us that he works at the Lalit and that he does not want something to happen to us. He arranged two rickshaw's to go to the part where we wanted to go. But they did not bring us there, but to this shop. We didn't go to this shop because of the way they scammed us. Please don't fall for this and don't visit this shop. They have no respect for tourists, visitors of their country!!
