Be aware 1) They do not take “no” for an answer. 2) They don’t follow through with commitments. I purchased a large tapestry. - I was told they would add hanging loops for free, it didn’t have them when it arrived. - They said I would have it in 10 days. It took several inquiry emails and a month to arrive. - They said taxes were included and paid by the Indian government to keep the craft going. I also had to pay customs tax to the shipper before it was delivered.
A massive shopping centre just selling Indian inspired goods. I was brought here by my Tuk Tuk driver. Everything is quite expensive and overpriced, although it seems good quality. Beautiful paintings and travel souvenirs. But you can probably get them cheaper somewhere else. There are so many staff so you feel like you’re being watched and pressured into buying!
Very good quality souvenirs and other things here, among them cashmere, carpet etc, but place iwas shown by local gide like popular tourists spot so price here cosmic.
They sell fake silk products and have a link with “friendly” tuk tuk drivers that is so elaborate you’ll be sure that it isn’t the case. Thinking you’ve turned down a scam and bought out the kind and generous side in someone you’ll be looped into this as a recommendation. It’s not. If you found this review first you’re lucky. For those who’d like proof of the fake silk paintings (which despite having several of the same print that look very slightly different but are not), here is one I in a lapse of judgement earlier purchased. You’ll see that it doesn’t burn rapidly like silk, it’s polyester, which melts. They are also printed despite looking legitimate. If you like them you’ll find them for 10% - 20% of the price at markets. You’ll be told that this is a government place which supports handmade art. It isn’t. You might even be offered a cheaper shop to go to. The lighting might even have issues so that it’s hard to see. Enjoy your day elsewhere. The railway government information offices are also fake. Even if they don’t sell you anything. They’ll find a way to “help you out” and get some cash.
This shop very good & exilent i love the work they do for me stiching is perfect & seals staff very good .
Very special place to see the handmade and ancient crafts of India. Nasir very kindly showed me many beautiful things with no expectations but I did buy a beautiful rug for my Mom which we’ll enjoy for many years to come!
Asif and this store was amazing. They were very patient and explained thing through and measured properly for clothes. There were plenty of souvenirs including painting that were beautiful and handcrafted. Highly recommend for anyone visiting to come and check then out
Don't go here. Its a rip off. They charged £80 for something that costs £15 in the mall. Disappointed that our driver took us here. We should have known.
Please be aware total tourist trap. Over priced, bad quality, and high pressure. Avoid at all costs. Don't be scammed like us!
Sahu was very helpful. There is something for everyone in this shop, from jewelry & clothing to home decor. The Kashmiri rugs are gorgeous hand knotted works of art, and the demonstration shared the history and tradition behind them. A stop here is well worth your time.
