Too much pressure, who knows what materials are used (IS that silk? IS that cashmere?) and the costs seem, on reflection, way too much. We were hoodwinked by our guide who we had booked through a reputable high street travel agent as part of a ‘golden triangle’ tour and weren’t expecting this kind of scam. Subsequent guides took us to similar places in different cities but we were prepared by then and could refuse much more easily! These places are cheap and nasty masquerading as handmade and original- don’t be fooled like us!
What a great shop. If you want clothes they have it. And every kind of craft and jewellery. Great experience. Sahu is a star in the making .
Great place to buy and know more about India. Beautiful handcraft and people. Most recommended!
The prices are slightly higher than mass-produced alternatives, but the quality is worth it. I’ve used their carpets in my rental properties, and they hold up well over time. Handmade rugs have a charm that mass-produced ones simply can’t match. A great choice for those who appreciate traditional craftsmanship.
AVOID. IT’S A SCAM. * Pushy salesperson will lie through their teeth to make a sale. Every word is a lie you cannot trust a single word * “Pashmina”, “baby lamb wool”, “silk” all are synthetic materials. With insane mark up Furthermore, scammers will make you visit this store since they get commission. Common tactics and phrases they use: * “it’s Monday so everywhere is closed, except India Loom. Go there” * “I will get you a tuk tuk cheap, I just don’t want tourist like you to get scammed”, and asks the tuk tuk driver to go to India loom for cheap(giving the driver a commission) * “I’m not selling anything, just want to help you” or “I work for uber/hotel” * “it’s government owned” lie to make you believe the store is legit Welcome to India!
A local driver suggested this place, and I’m glad we visited. Many places sell mass-produced rugs, but this store offers authentic, handcrafted pieces. The designs are beautiful, and the quality is evident. Definitely worth checking out
Disappointing Experience Despite Quality Products The products at India Loom were well-made and fairly priced, and initially, we were quite impressed. However, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by an inappropriate comment directed at my wife by one of the marble sellers. As a result, we chose to leave. Respectful customer service is just as important as product quality, and in this case, it fell short.
‼️This place is a total SCAM and a waste of time. the tuk-tuk driver (not from Uber, our mistake) forced us to come here & changed the destination, and then charged each person 100 rupees separately. 😠 Inside the store the staff and sellers were pushy, basically begging us to buy something. everything here you can find at the Delhi airport, better quality and way cheaper. AVOID this place!! 👎
After searching for a long time, I finally found the perfect rug here! The quality is exceptional, and it feels like a great investment for my home. The prices may be on the higher side, but considering the durability and craftsmanship, it’s well worth it. Very satisfied with my purchase!
Not a place I chose to visit I ended up at Indian Loom because my rickshaw driver insisted on taking me here — clearly on commission — even though I neither asked nor planned to come. The items for sale are attractive and seem to be genuine handicrafts, but the prices are high. The sales approach is very persuasive, and you might find yourself buying things you don’t need. This is a place for very assertive shoppers; otherwise, you risk spending far more money than intended. I felt as if I’d been “picked up” near India Gate and taken here against my will, and the whole experience was uncomfortable.
