SCAM AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE. I wish I read the reviews first before buying from this place. Reading the reviews made me realized that I had the same experience. The sellers/owners were very pushy. You don't see any locals buying the product and there were not a lot of people. My tour guide took me to this shop without thinking it could be scam I went along since I've been wanting to buy some Indian clothes. They said about handmade craft and very unique and authentic. So I bought a couple scarfs and dresses. Guess what? I used one the dress for a dinner I attended to and it started to fall apart. THE MATERIAL THEY USE WAS VERY CHEAP, GARBAGE AND POORLY MADE. THE THREADS OF THE CLOTHES WAS COMING APART FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES. SAME THING WITH THE SCARF. I even got injured from the clothes because the stitches from the fake jewelry piece they put on the clothes fall apart and scratch me big time. It piss me off because it cost me 22500 rupee for this garbage. Then after I went to that place, we went to the market and I found better clothes for better prices. Also, I went to Amazon and found better Indian clothes for half the price I paid for. Then I asked couple Indian locals what they think about the price I paid for and they said I paid a lot for the clothes. It sucks coz this people make tourist not to come to India then these people will tell everyone there experience so now less people will visit India. I know because I will tell people about my experience especially I work in a place with a lot of people travel so they will avoid places like this. Very disappointing.
ATTENTIONS TRAVELER/TOURISTS IF ANYONE APPROACHES YOU ON STREETS AND SUGGESTING YOU THIS PLACE TO BUY SOUVENIR, AVOID AT ALL COST! Here’s the story: I’m staying at a 5 stars hotel and was on foot to a restaurant for dinner, a guy approached me claiming that he works in the hotel and the streets I was gonna walk down is dangerous for tourists like me. He suggested to take a tuktuk to this place for souvenir then have dinner at another expensive restaurant, which conveniently a tuktuk was right in front of us. I believed him in the beginning and even thought that locals are very nice, unlike what I saw on internet. When I arrived at this place, the tuktuk driver had to watched me walk inside the store then he talked to someone before following me into the store. The moment I walked inside the store, I felt something is fishy. No regular customers in the store and 10+ workers in the ground floor. That’s when I decided to leave. The tuktuk driver even raised the price for the “long ride”, from 100 to 300.
When i walked in i felt a bit alienated from what seemed to be a well settled in exhibition space where everyone seemed to know each other… including the shoppers. But once i finally stopped to shop, i was hooked. 2 hours, 2 shirts, 8 pairs of earrings, one salwar and 8 butter fried moms at the Meghalaya stall later, my colleague who dragged me there had to now drag me out!! A must visit. And take the time to make friends with the artisans or traders who have come from all over the country… because you can’t put a price on that!
I had to completely change my opinion. After waiting almost a month, we finally received our order. Despite all measurements being taken carefully and it being clearly agreed that the clothes should be made slightly larger so the children could grow into them, everything arrived too small. Nothing we agreed upon was delivered correctly. Customer service is non-existent. We paid nearly €600 for clothing that doesn’t fit! And then the only response we get is: “When are you back in India?”
M K was extremely kind and helped us find just what we needed for the weeding we are attending. The customer service in this store was just the best. Beautiful clothes and good prices. Thank you very much!
Scammer attention at Delhi Heat cottage emporium ,51 Panchkuian Road Travelers to Delhi, Agra & the Golden Triangle – Please Be Careful I’m sharing this to help other visitors avoid being scammed. 1️⃣ Be cautious of taxi / auto drivers Some auto rickshaw and taxi drivers may strongly encourage you to visit certain handicraft or souvenir shops. They often receive commission for bringing customers there. If you did not ask to go shopping, feel free to firmly and politely refuse. 2️⃣ Sweet talk inside the shop Once inside, salespeople may say: “Just have a look” “No pressure to buy” “This is authentic / rare / handmade” They are trained to observe your interests and use them to push a sale. My Experience I was persuaded to buy a painting that was claimed to be authentic Pichwai art. I paid $300 USD. However: The painting did not have the characteristics of traditional Pichwai. No official invoice was provided. The artist’s name was not disclosed. When I tried to contact them the phone number mentioned on the website or fake invoice is wrong and doesn’t receive incoming call ( big red flag ) The next day, I visited Dilli Haat and found very similar artworks in multiple shops. Vendors confirmed: It was a mass-produced mineral artwork on cloth It was not a rare or collectible piece The price was about 1/3 of what I paid Similar aggressive selling happened in Fatehpur Sikri and again in Agra, where drivers tried to pressure us into visiting handicraft stores we never requested. Important Advice for Tourists Do not visit shops recommended aggressively by drivers or guides. Always ask for: Official invoice Artist name Certification (if claiming authenticity) Compare prices before buying. If you feel pressured, walk away. Remember: You are never obligated to enter a shop. Unfortunately, many similar products can be found online at significantly lower prices with proper descriptions. Please stay alert and don’t let your trip be affected by unnecessary pressure or inflated pricing. Also the shop will respond to the review saying that I am referring to wrong ship as there are shops with similar names in Delhi Please don't buy that crap Explanation
Pretty place to explore food and hand crafted items. The food was amazing. I have tried paneer momo, veg haka noodles with lots of veggies, chicken momo and fruit beer. Or if I talk about the market clothes that were too expensive according to other market rates Which was not reasonable at all. I can recommend especially for food and explore hand crafted items.
🚨PLEASE PLEASE READ!! WARNING,🚨 This a tourist TRAP. We was taken here by a TUK driver, who was in on the ACT! It's three floors of pressure pressure selling. You Say NO and they come at you again and again and again. These kinda SHOPS gives india a bad name, 'Government approved' LOL. I hope this review can save people some time and money.
On our round trip of India 🇮🇳 we were lucky enough to spend some time in the capital city. (Delhi)🇮🇳 Having done the usual wonderful sites and whilst on a rickshaw we decided to stop at this wonderful emporium. We were so well greeted and shown around an Aladdin’s cave of beautiful coloured fabrics 😀🇮🇳 Want a suit made then no problem. All completed in one day (amazing) I treated myself to a wonderful grey checkered sleeveless jacket 🇮🇳😀 So well received. Having chosen the jacket I wanted to change the usual buttons with something more Indian. This was no problem and the in-house tailor made the changes while I waited and for no extra charge. I’m very happy with my purchase and would absolutely recommend this store. Google it and visit 😀🇮🇳 You won’t be disappointed 😀🇮🇳🏴🙏 Prices not high and the staff were not pushy by the usual standards 😀😀🇮🇳🇮🇳
I recently visited the handicraft shop at Dilli Haat, and it was an incredible experience. The shop offered a stunning array of 🌛handmade products, ranging from traditional Indian textiles to intricate pottery and 🌸wooden carvings. 🪸 Each item reflected the rich cultural🦜 🌜heritage and craftsmanship of India. 🌎 The quality 🌹of the products was exceptional, with unique designs that are 🌙hard to find elsewhere. 🦚 The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, offering insights into the origin of various items. 🫁 The vibrant atmosphere of Dilli Haat, combined with the diverse handicrafts, made it a perfect place for finding authentic souvenirs and gifts.🫂
