Very good experience at Hotel Surya. The ambience is comfortable and the interiors kept well. Staff service was excellent — they went an extra mile to ensure I had everything I needed. The restaurant food was fresh and flavorful. Also loved being centrally located — easy to access major local spots. Definitely a go-to choice in Indore. Our stay at Hotel Surya from 25th January to 29th January was extremely disappointing and unacceptable on multiple levels. The hygiene standards were poor. The rooms were unclean, pillows had visible stains, and the common dining area was not properly maintained. Several bathroom accessories were broken, clearly showing neglect in upkeep and basic maintenance. The hotel also appeared to be hosting alcohol parties. Certain rooms kept their doors open while loud music played late into the night. There was no effort from management to control the disturbance, making it very difficult to rest. The most serious issue was security. On two separate nights, someone rang our doorbell and ran away. The same happened outside my in-laws’ room. When reported, the staff stated that the CCTV camera on that floor was not working, and therefore they were unable to identify who was responsible. A non-functional CCTV system during such incidents reflects a major lapse in guest safety. To add to the discomfort, the dining staff was persistently hovering for tips after every interaction. Hospitality should never feel transactional or pressured. Guests should not feel obligated or uncomfortable during meals. Between unhygienic conditions, broken infrastructure, loud late-night disturbances, security lapses, and uncomfortable service practices, this was far from a satisfactory stay. We strongly caution others to reconsider before booking this property and opt for a more professionally managed and secure hotel in Indore. I visited Hotel Surya for my brother’s roka ceremony, and the overall experience was good. The hotel is nice and well maintained. The food was really tasty and enjoyed by everyone. It’s a good place for family functions and small celebrations. Overall, a pleasant experience at Hotel Surya.
