The India Gate, originally called the All India War Memorial, is a 42-metre-high archway in the heart of New Delhi. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in India, serving as a solemn tribute to the 70,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who lost their lives in World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. Entry Fee: Free for all visitors. Opening Hours: The India Gate structure and surrounding lawns are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Best Time to Visit: Evening (6:00 PM – 10:00 PM) is highly recommended when the monument is beautifully floodlit and the nearby fountains are operational with coloured lights. Nearest Metro Station: Central Secretariat (Yellow and Violet Lines), located about 2 km away. Kartavya Path: In 2022, the central avenue leading to India Gate, formerly known as Rajpath, was renovated and renamed Kartavya Path ("Path of Duty"). It features new lawns, improved public amenities, and paved walkways. Statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: A 28-foot monolithic granite statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose now stands under the grand canopy near India Gate, replacing a statue of King George V that was removed in 1968. National War Memorial: Located approximately 200 metres from India Gate, this modern memorial honours all soldiers who have died for India since independence. Visited India Gate and loved the vibe. The monument looks stunning, especially in the evening when it’s beautifully lit. The surrounding lawns are clean and perfect for a relaxing walk. Great place to hang out with friends or family, enjoy street food, and take photos. The atmosphere is lively yet peaceful. Must visit if you’re in Delhi.

I had such a wonderful experience, but a little more cleaning in the historic area and some improved management would definitely make it top-tier! ✨🏛️ #experience #management #history Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No

A wonderful, historic place! Arrive just before sunset to see the majestic structure in daylight. Then, watch the moving Amar Jawan retreat drill and Indian National Flag-lowering at the National War Memorial, followed by the beautiful evening lighting on India Gate. Highly recommended! INDIA GATE is one of the iconic and historical landmark in India. *Nearest Metro is Central Secretariat and from there Indian Gate is nearly 2.5 kms.(#Khan Market or Udyog Bhavan metro satoins can preferable)🚇 From metro you can reach by Walk or by Auto. One can spend easily 1-2hrs. * Better Prefer Visit in Evenings After 5PM ,after dark flag[🇮🇳] colours are projected on Indian Gate. **One of the most Irritating thing was--"The local photographers" --, they are around 30 people. One by One they will target and keeps on asking to take pictures. So that you can't peacfully spend or take pictures by your own mobile. * One Pic is around @Re.20/- ( or 30).Sometimes they will take pictures without your consent and keeps on ask you to accept it. *So I reccomend you to don't get Angry or Argue with them( as they are used to it / may be their only profession).Just accept 2-3 pics from them (or) just keeps on telling no and spend just 20 mins near Indian Gate and leave. India Gate is an impressive landmark and definitely worth seeing while visiting New Delhi. However, I found that it’s more of a quick stop than a full attraction — you mostly appreciate it from a distance rather than spending much time exploring the site itself. It’s nice to see and makes for some great photos, especially as part of a tour around the city, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to spend a lot of time here. Overall, a beautiful and iconic monument, but a relatively short visit. Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No

Visited India Gate recently—such a vibrant and iconic place, especially in the evening with all the lights and crowd. There’s no ticket required to enter, so you can freely walk around, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. At the entrance, there’s a food court area where you can grab snacks, drinks, and small items. It’s a nice spot to sit, eat, and soak in the lively surroundings while spending time with friends or family. Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No
