Delhi Haat Craft Cottage Industries

Scam. Sold us a fake item at an extremely high price (we got the item appraised by several individuals so there's no doubt about this). The salespeople also told us that the store is sponsored by the local government and that all proceeds from sales go directly to the artisans -- clearly untrue in light of the fact that they sell fakes. This kind of behavior deters consumers from buying at legitimate stores and is profoundly damaging for the artisanal industry and for honest craftsmen in India.

Avoid, avoid, avoid, Yeah, this is a tourist trap in Delhi certainly. I understand they need to make money to survive, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth when as a tourist, your guide/tuk tuk driver brings you to such places where things are overpriced and they smooth talk you into buying things. I’ve grown up here, so I can see all the scam happening all the more. This isn’t the Incredible India that most of us envisioned.

Stay away from this place! They force you to buy things you don't want and pressure you for a 5-star review if you don't. The clothing materials are of both low and high quality, and they mostly target non-locals they can easily manipulate. They even used your phone's hotspot to get a good rating. Be careful and avoid this place at all costs!

They'll charge you 4-5 times extra in the name of handlooms. Got same saree for 600₹ from chandini chowk market where these guys quoted 3000₹ They'll say fixed prices but there is no mrp displayed on any product. Not sure how government is allowing to run such shops where mrp is not displayed on products This is 100% fraud shop.

Very friendly and helpful service! They provide a quick turnaround for custom suits but high quality craftsmanship and plenty of choice with materials. Especially coming from London, the value is fantastic and surpasses anything found at home

I give 2 stars for I am still in a little doubt regdg how much has been the extent to which I hv been cheated. A metallic camel sold as a panchdhatu item (who knows how many dhatus are actually there) sold for 5600. Too much for a 4"height item I believe

Sales people are very smart. Environment is also great. But the prices of the product are 3 times more than the market. Be aware. Auto drivers sometimes force you to drop there. They say, its GST/ tax free, its funny but good marketing strategy. But for short stay in Delhi, its good place to buy, but please negotiate the price, don't compare the price with US/EU.
