Delhi By Cycle

The Yamuna tour was eye-opening. My guide, Ashu, was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He handled every question I had about India’s history and people, and I came away knowing far more than I went in with. The ride itself is an adventure. We set off at dawn on a Sunday, about as quiet as Delhi traffic ever gets, and the roads were still unlike anything I’ve ridden on. I always felt safe, but you need to be a confident rider. If you are, it’s exhilarating, and you see a lot of Delhi. The stop at the river was excellent, and not somewhere I’d have thought to go on my own. One heads-up: the boat ride wasn’t running when I went in October, so check with DBC before booking if that’s part of the draw. Highly recommended.

I absolutely loved this tour. It was one of the highlights of my visit to Delhi. Starting at 6:30 AM was perfect. You experience Delhi waking up: people preparing breakfast, market stalls opening, streets coming alive, and the city slowly transforming from night into day. It gives you a completely different perspective than you would ever get from a taxi or sightseeing bus. Our guides, Himanshu and Mukesh, were outstanding. They didn’t just show us places—they explained the history, the culture, and the stories behind everything. We stopped around 15–20 times, and every stop came with fascinating insights. The visit to the spice market was unforgettable. Without these guides I would never have found these hidden places, and I doubt many visitors—and even many people from Delhi—ever see them this way. Halfway through we stopped for delicious chai, and afterwards we enjoyed a fantastic local breakfast, all included in the tour. Throughout the ride I felt completely safe and very well looked after. If you really want to understand Delhi instead of just seeing it, this is the tour to book. Highly recommended!
