I called this salon simply to ask about their haircut charges, and the way my call was handled was honestly very disappointing. When I first called, I said, “Hello, is this Look Salon?” and the call was immediately disconnected. I called again, and a male staff member answered. I confirmed that I had reached the salon and asked why my previous call had been disconnected. He said it had happened by mistake. I simply accepted that explanation and moved on to my actual question about the haircut charges. However, while I was speaking to him, the call was suddenly handed over to another female staff member. I asked why the call was being passed between different people while I was trying to get a basic piece of information. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she responded quite rudely, saying that another customer was there and that she hadn't intentionally disconnected my call. I completely understand that salons can be busy and that staff may have customers standing in front of them. That's not the issue. The issue is the way the situation was communicated. A simple, polite statement such as, “We have a customer here, could you please hold for a moment?” would have been perfectly reasonable. Instead, the entire interaction felt unnecessarily rude, chaotic, and unprofessional. I was not asking for anything complicated, I was simply calling to ask the price of a haircut. If this is how a potential customer is treated while simply making an enquiry, it raises serious questions about the level of customer service one can expect after actually paying for a service. Very disappointing experience.

I have been a loyal customer of Looks Ashok Vihar for many years and have gotten my makeup done there at least seven or eight times. Until now, I had always been extremely happy with their services. Unfortunately, this was the first time I had a genuinely disappointing experience. It started with my booking. When I called, I found out that the salon has a new manager. She initially quoted me significantly higher prices than what I had always paid. Since I have been a regular customer for years, I informed her that I was aware of their earlier package pricing. She then assured me that I would be charged the same price as before and asked me to come in. That seemed fair. However, the experience changed as soon as I arrived. Before the makeup even began, the makeup artist informed me that my package would not include contouring, false lashes, or glitter eyeshadow. I was honestly surprised. These are basic elements that most clients expect from professional party makeup at a reputed salon like Looks. If these exclusions existed, they should have been clearly communicated at the time of booking—not after I had already arrived with an event just two hours away. When I raised this concern, I was told that they would do it “this time only,” but not in the future. The makeup was then completed, but I felt it looked far too heavy for my liking. I politely requested that it be toned down because I wasn’t comfortable with how it looked on me. Instead of considering my feedback, I was simply told that it looked “perfect.” I believe makeup is a personal service, and customer satisfaction should always come first. If a client feels uncomfortable with the final look, the artist should be willing to make reasonable adjustments rather than dismissing the concern. My hairstyling experience was equally disappointing. I showed the hairstylist a few reference hairstyles that I liked, but he insisted they wouldn’t suit me and convinced me to try something else. Since I had trusted the salon for years, I agreed. Unfortunately, the hairstyle didn’t complement my face at all and actually made it appear bulkier. When I expressed my concern, I was again told that it was the latest trend and looked great. However, trends don’t matter if they don’t suit the client. What disappointed me most was the unwillingness to make even minor changes after I shared my feedback. It felt as though the staff wanted to finish quickly because it was close to the salon’s closing time. If that was the case, it should never have affected the quality of service or the client’s experience. Overall, this was the first time I left Looks feeling dissatisfied. More than the makeup or hairstyle itself, it was the lack of warmth, attentiveness, and customer-focused service that disappointed me. Earlier, when Ritu managed the salon, she handled customers exceptionally well, and the entire experience felt welcoming and professional. This time, both the management and the staff seemed indifferent, and I did not receive the same level of care that I had always associated with Looks. It is truly disappointing because I never expected this from a salon that I had trusted for so many years. Sadly, after this experience, I don’t think I would recommend Looks Ashok Vihar, and I will most likely be looking for another salon for my future appointments.
