I’ve been guided and encouraged in such a detailed manner that I now feel confident choreographing on my own. To be honest, being part of today's generation, I didn’t like Kathak much at first—I was there for contemporary dance. But when I saw the grace and beauty that Apoorva Ma’am and Harshi Ma’am bring to their style, I fell in love with it. I don’t even know when I became a Kathak dancer. They have a way of motivating you and showing you a version of yourself you’ve never seen. They have the ability to remove your self-doubt—and they even give you a stage to perform. What’s even more special is that they teach you the smallest details—like what your expressions should be, where exactly your gaze should fall—they make sure nothing is missed.
