Unfortunately, photography wasn't allowed. The security check was quite onerous and rigorous. The whole experience was spoiled by my earlier visit to a separate exhibition, where I first waited half an hour in a booth for a sufficient number of interested foreigners to gather, as Hindus entered separately. Then, I think ten rooms depicting scenes from Hindu life and the message of Bhagwan Swaminarayan were interesting for the first 10 minutes because the figures were life-size, speaking, and moving. By the tenth room, it was almost unbearable to watch. Then, after almost an hour, there was a boat and a passage through a canal, with subsequent performances being presented on the sides. There was no turning back, as staff led the way to each room, and everything was closed for the duration of the presentation. Finally, there was a cinema hall and a nearly hour-long film about Hinduism—the path, calling, and message of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Some might enjoy this type of attraction, but I wasn't prepared for it and left literally exhausted. But the temple itself deserves five stars, or even more. All this just five minutes from the metro station. 50+ on the go
