It is crowded everyday and un-hygenic but the reason I gave four stars is that is has many sweet shops and good place for bengali people.
It offer lots of delicious street food. It's a must visit to try all the authentic delicacies of kolkata. You will find all the necessary item over here.
If you are Bengali or you are from the East part of india, this is the best market for you in Delhi. You will be surprised and feel like you are in your home town market in Bengal. I just love this place❤️❤️
If you belong from the eastern part of India, you'll kinda feel at home. You can buy vegetables which are not easily available in other parts of delhi. Traffic is a headache but the shopkeepers are friendly and if you are a foodie; there's a lots to buy.
I go to this market for 3 things. 1. Blouses - there is a dedicated shop for bengali saree n blouses. 2.Food - many options bt I go specially for "Mutton Ghooghnee", "Kolkata Biryani House" & "Luchi + kosha Mangsho". 3.Kamla Sweets-To have my fav "Doodh Puli"
Good only if you are non vegetarian. Don't eat if you are pure vegetarian. They don't separate sections for veg and non veg. Pure Bengali style and flavours
Good to place to eat, specially Bengali sweets and dishes. Good crowd around, they behave well. Little problem is fish market in the main market it stinks. Still overall experience is good..
A market at posh location , with bengali flavour , available stuff , from ration to pet foods , rasgulla to fishes , medicals to street foods. Mcd Parking facility is chargeable. Momos , kathia rolls , chicken tandoor and chaat ate added attraction. Little costly as compared to nearby crowdy govind puri and tkd extn.
As a Bangali, you'll be very satisfied as all Bengali traditional items are easily available here. Restaurants are more towards the costlier side though...
An iconic market with nothing much really. There was an epic hangout here called, Raju Tea Stall, but they closed it last year. All in all a cleanish place, but there is a fish market inside, so, obviously it smells revolting in certain areas of this market. Also know for chaats and specialty Bengali goods.
