The Tivoli

We recently participated in a chess competition at Tivoli Hotel, and the experience was excellent. The venue was spacious, well-maintained, and perfectly suited for creating a focused and professional tournament atmosphere. The hospitality provided by the hotel was top-notch — from smooth check-ins to timely service, everything was handled efficiently. The staff was courteous, responsive, and went the extra mile to accommodate the needs of players, officials, and guests. Had my sister's wedding at The Tivoli. Very good experience with the Sales team, specially Mr Vishal Verma. Newly constructed property which meant the rooms were well done and so was the Pent House. Food was something that everyone had only good things to say about. Also, had our after party at Trafalgars, which was also very memorable. Anywhere else in the world...this would rank as a 3-3.5 star rated hotel. Believe me...I've stayed in hotels in 24 different countries. Don't get me wrong the building, rooms and amenities are beautiful. But hospitality requires more than that....with service being the central component. This hotel is 5 star rated and should attract an international market....however it is more suited for the locals. Additionally No one speaks English which is the official international language of business. It hosted minimum 3 boisterous weddings whilst I was there..all in shared spaces. Hence, the beautiful pics of the pool you see in the pics...not user friendly. Minimal respect for those who enjoy peace and tranquility after a busy day. One wedding had drums beating from 6am. The entry security are rude, the reception have a blunted affect and it's not unusual for room service to hang up the phone on you as soon as they hear English and panic. As an international traveller...I would also caution you, there is no bar at this hotel and the menu is miles away from continental. Lastly, another way you can tell this hotel is way below the 5 star mark is the fact that you get the same generic message when you leave a poor or average review. They have no "distress" whatsoever.
