Used to be so much better. There are still lots of beautiful handmade items and great gifts, staff is nice but many shelves empty, dusty and things are not as beautifully displayed as before. Hope things look up again soon, this used to be such a superb collection
Antique and hand made articles are available here. Here you can buy beautifully hand made wodden, stone and metal statues, silk clothes, beautiful hand made jewellery, painting and scenery, crockery items etc. Some aromatic perfumes, many type of honey, tea etc. Quality is top hence prices are higher side. Nice peaceful atmosphere inside.
You can buy a lot of things there, from small souvenirs to large handicrafts. There are several floors, selling different products including paintings, stone carvings, robes, and other clothes. There is also a Nepalese market opposite.
Many handcrafts products are available inside this block. Scarfs, cushion cover, bronze statue, wooden box, designer cotton saree and paintings, etc., very nice products. Entry is free.
They sell everything from linens to arts and crafts to jewelry. I would recommend it for tourists that want to buy some Indian artifacts as they will be able to find everything under one roof.
Right in the heart of the city, this emporium is located just on the outskirts of Connaught place on Janpath. The parking is free and the stores itself is huge, spread across multiple floors. They have a great collection of artifacts and handicrafts, but the pricing is sky high, even for gift wrapping they would charge 150 bucks per product which seemed very unreasonable.
Central cottage emporium has lot to offer, here you can find indian teas different parts of india, you can buy jewellry, clothing, furnishing, shoes, leather products, bangels & accessories, furniture, statues, kids toys.. and lot more stuff made in India by Indian artisans. You can even find collection from national award winners on sale here. They have a multistory building full of amazing things with price ranging from ₹30 - ₹ 20 + Lacs.. so they have something for everyone. This place is very famous amount international tourist for shopping, they even pack and ship to all the countries in the world. Rates of items are fixed so you won't have to worry about bargaining or haggling. They accept cash, debit cards and credit cards too. This is a must visit place for all.
Walking into the Central Cottage Industries Emporium in Delhi’s Connaught Place felt like stepping into a vibrant storybook of India’s diverse cultural heritage. I was immediately greeted by an array of colors and textures—from intricately woven silk sarees to stunning wooden carvings that seemed to tell tales of distant lands. Each section of the emporium is like a different chapter, showcasing the unique traditions and crafts from all over India. As I wandered through, I was especially drawn to the Pashmina shawls. A friendly staff member explained the art and skill behind the shawls, their origins in Kashmir, and how they’re handwoven with such care. I couldn’t resist picking one up and running my fingers over its fine, soft texture. It felt like a piece of history brought to life. Then came the textiles—each fabric, whether it was vibrant Rajasthani prints or Bengal’s intricate kantha embroidery, seemed to reflect the personality of its origin. I was also surprised to find that despite its premium, museum-like selection, the prices here are fixed and fair. No need for haggling, just appreciation for quality work! And while it’s easy to get lost in the beauty of each handcrafted item, the friendly staff is there to guide you, sharing stories behind each piece that makes the experience even richer. Leaving with a few treasures and a deeper respect for India’s craftsmanship, I felt as though I’d just returned from a journey through the country itself. If you’re ever in Delhi and want more than just a souvenir, a visit to Central Cottage Industries Emporium is like taking a piece of India’s soul back home. Highly recommended for those who love authentic craftsmanship and a good story woven into every thread and carving!
The very best of Indian arts and crafts. Good part is: they source directly from the artisans and whenever you buy anything, bulk of the money is transferred back to the artisans. Also the quality of products is of high quality. At first it may seem slightly expensive, but it is absolutely worth it. It's an experience of Delhi you should miss.
