Coming to New Delhi from inside India or just arriving and haven't gotten a guidebook? Just need something to read while travelling? Maybe you need some inspiration from seeing some of the many books brilliant writers have composed about the beguiling culture and history of India? How about a beautiful coffee table book to remind you of your visit or to give a friend? If so, come to Pahar Gange and see the brilliant Mr. Deepak and his wonderful trove of personally curated books. He's the man, and this is the place! Have a wonderful conversation with him about books and their writers. He'll discuss the things you know and probably tell you about something you don't. In my visit, his world of books, mostly in English but also some in Spanish, French, and German, was India centric, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the themes and subjects represented run deeper. His cache of Lonely Planet guidebooks alone will jump out at you and might be all you'd ever need. Highly recommend for a wonderful and inspiring no-pressure visit.
awesome selection of books, I specifically wanted Indian history and philosophy and that is exactly what I got! so many options from a range of good authors. definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a book whilst travelling. The gentleman who served me was great, the pricing was all very reasonable, there was nothing extortionate about it. Overall a really great book buying experience. he is the only book shop in this strip, but it’s very convenient and I’m sure they have what you want anyway. I would highly recommend buying your book in Delhi here, for quality, variety of book and price point. Overall really good.
Absolutely loved it! The owner was so sweet, helped us out. Many books being sold for 50% off, great variety and a good collection. Interesting to know Haruki Murakami has visited this store! Heaven for book lovers. Highly recommend!
This is the greatest place in Pahargan. Oasis in a chaotic dusty loud market. Very nice selection of English and franch books. The owner is so nice, I loved every moment in this place.
