Delhi By Cycle

The cycling tour was so fun! It gave me a chance to see Delhi’s neighbourhoods in a whole new light. The positive energy from these rides is something I truly needed. If you’re looking to break away and experience the joy of cycling, I highly recommend joining their tours – they’re doing an amazing job!

While the overall activity was enjoyable, there were some challenges that affected our start. Cycling on Delhi’s quieter winter roads was refreshing, and the group we joined made it even better with their enthusiasm and energy. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into planning the route and this tour as a whole, which we truly appreciated. However, parking was a major issue. Despite being assured that ample parking was available nearby, we spent 25 minutes searching and eventually had to park at Sunder Nursery, paying Rs. 400 unnecessarily. This delay caused us to miss the initial briefing, including some paintings and riding instructions. Although we communicated with the tour guide during this time, no concrete help was offered, and the group had already left by the time we reached the meeting spot. It would have been helpful to receive clear instructions or a disclaimer about the parking situation in advance, especially for participants arriving by car. This would have saved us a lot of time and frustration. That said, once the initial hiccups were over, the cycling tour itself was very enjoyable, and we loved the route and group dynamics. With better planning and clearer communication regarding logistics, this experience could be even better.

We did the Raj Tour through New Delhi and it was a great experience. Our guides Ankush and Mukesh took the time to explain everything and made sure we stayed safe at all times.

Yes it’s dart and it’s hectic but you do get to experience Delhi in a real way. You see the city waking up, kids going to school, breakfast being prepared. It comes with 2 breaks for Chai and Breakfast. Ashutosh and Faiz were great guides in traffic as well as explaining sites. Highly recommend.

We used DelhiByCycle for 3 tours. 1) On a stopover in Delhi we did a day tour seeing temples and other interesting sites in Delhi. We had asked for a female tour guide, to get a perspective on female living in Delhi as well. And it was a great and insightful trip. 2) We did the foodtour in Old Town Delhi. It was a great combination of seeing a bit of the old town and getting familiar with some of the great Indian food. We did the tour privately, which was lucky as we were delayed by our plane. But the guide waited for us, and still gave us a great tour. He even went on later than agreed, now that we arrived late. And didn’t leave us, until he was sure we had found an Uber to get home safely in the later evening. 3) Day tour to Taj Mahal. We did the The Krishna’s Trails tour, but by car in one day instead of by cycle in 2 days; due to our time limit and the weather being too hot to cycle for so long. We loved the tour. This was definitely not the standard day tour to Taj Mahal. We got to see a lot of different things. Our interest was in experiencing local culture & living. So the guide actually took us home to meet and eat with his family. This was such a nice experience, and we are really truly grateful for it! All 3 guides were so nice, and really knowledgeable. And DelhiByCycle spent a lot of time planning the perfect itinerary for us. They get our highest recommendations.

Background - solo Malaysian dude, moderate cycling ability, used to motorcycling on busy Malaysian streets. You will not find a better way to explore Old Delhi than on bicycle! Priyam and Mukesh were amazing guides, and they really brought me on an adventure. This is not some typical road-riding trip -we literally bumped shoulders with the locals as we tore through the ancient back-alleys. It felt like an off-roading experience at one point as we went through cobbled roads and potholes! The chai (tea) break by the roadside and breakfast at Karim's really capped it off.

A friend visiting Delhi and I went on the Nizamuddin Tour that included the Lodhi Art District and Lodhi Garden. It was so much fun exploring a city I’ve lived in all my life by cycle, chatting with Ashutosh and Mukesh Bhaiya about their passions, and eating the food carefully selected by the team! Not only did my friend absolutely LOVE the whole experience, I myself would definitely go back and do allllll the different tours they offer to expand my knowledge of the city as well as get out and do something interesting rather than the same old things we tend to do living here. Thank you Ashutosh and Mukesh Bhaiya, can’t wait to be back on another tour with you!

Fantastic tour of Old Delhi. You need to be prepared to cycle for around 3hrs but it’s mostly flat and you stop frequently (either to look at something or because of the congestion). Knowledgeable guide
