Buddha Vihar-beautiful gold polished Buddha murti within a highly decorated frame with beautiful picture of Buddha gifted by Pt Jawaharlal Nehru-1st Prime Minister of INDIA nr Lakhmi Narayan/Birla Temple in DELHI. 1000s of devotees irrespective of faith, identification visits.
This place is just wow for those who want to meditate or practice yoga at open place. Place is well managed be it cleanliness or behavior of staff and monks.
This is a hidden gem which sits between the popular Birla Mandir and Kalibari on Mandir Marg. Small but beautiful premise. Excellent place to sit at peace and meditate if one wishes to do so in the hall which houses the image of the Buddha. There is a small garden with the Bodhi tree. A beautiful image of the Buddha sits under the tree. I visited in the evening when the services were about to begin. The monk in charge of the evening prayer was very kind to allow some of us to join him in offering incense to the Lord and chant after him while circling the Bodhi tree. Overall it was a wonderful experience.
I come face to face with solemn serenity every time I am here. Every time I am dishevelled in my life, I seek to be here to calm myself down and reinvent myself.
Absolute Calm & Peace Presence of lord Buddha in front as you enter the temple makes u stunned silent. Vow to implement his principles My first visit to any Buddhist Temple on 12/3/23 CLBTN-26.02.2033
Absolutely serine. One can feel inner peace in here. The temple is between Kalibari and Lakshmi Narayan temple. It is just 3 mins walking from Tirupati Balaji temple. ** Shoes to be kept in racks however, unguarded. ** 10 min walking distance from R K Ashram Marg metro station situated in blue 🔵 line.
Visiting the Buddhist Temple near Birla Mandir is a serene and enriching experience. Tucked away in a peaceful area, this temple provides a tranquil atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the hustle and bustle of nearby city life. As I entered the temple grounds, I was struck by the simple yet elegant architecture that reflects traditional Buddhist design. The temple features beautifully carved statues and intricate murals depicting various aspects of Buddhist teachings and philosophy. The ambiance inside the temple is incredibly serene, making it a perfect place for meditation and reflection. The soft chants and the scent of incense create a tranquil environment, inviting visitors to pause and connect with their spirituality.
Small calm and quiet Buddhist temple just adjacent to Birla Mandir. Very peaceful. Daily chanting twice a day at 6 am and 6 pm. Weekly meditation happens on Sunday at 11 am.
Walking along the busy Mandir Marg in the heart of New Delhi, I stepped into Buddhist Temple and instantly felt the city's noise fade away. Surrounded by trees and serenity, this beautiful temple offered a refreshing pause from the fast pace of Connaught Place. What makes this temple special is its history. The foundation stone was laid in 1936, and the temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1939. It is managed by the Maha Bodhi Society, the organization founded by Anagarika Dharmapala that played a vital role in reviving Buddhist heritage in India. The architecture is elegant rather than grand. Inspired by traditional Buddhist design, the temple features a graceful pagoda-like structure, peaceful prayer halls, and beautifully maintained surroundings. Inside, I was greeted by a magnificent statue of Lord Buddha seated in meditation. The calm expression on the Buddha's face immediately draws your attention and creates an atmosphere of reflection. Around the hall are sculptures and artistic depictions from the life of the Buddha, reminding visitors of his journey from prince Siddhartha to the Enlightened One. I spent several quiet moments observing devotees offering prayers and meditating. The silence inside is profound, making it easy to disconnect from the outside world. Beyond its religious significance, the temple serves as a living link to the Maha Bodhi Society's mission of preserving Buddhist teachings and promoting peace, compassion, and mindfulness. My visit to this temple was not just a sightseeing experience; it felt like a journey into a chapter of India's spiritual history. Whether you are interested in Buddhism, architecture, history, or simply seeking a peaceful corner in Delhi, this temple is well worth a visit.
