For this beautiful Buddhist Tempke cost of the construction was entirely donated by the generosity of Raja Seth Jugal Kishore Birla. The foundation stone was laid by K. Yonewaza, the Japanese Consul General in India in 1931 and this Buddhist Temple. This Center is located on Mandir Marg. It is very close to New Delhi’s famed Lakhmi Narayan Temple, which is well-known as Birla Mandir. Buddha Vihara has been functioning as the most venerable center for Buddhism in the Capital of India. Thousands of devotees irrespective of faith and identification pay frequent visits to the Vihara to pay homage to the Buddha and His compassionate message of peace and nonviolence. The Buddha Vihara house is a beautiful gold polished Buddha murti, another exquisite Buddha murti of Burmese origin within a highly decorated frame with beautiful picture of Buddha
Compared to other Buddhist Temple, this one located near well known HINDU Temples of Delhi, Sri Laxmi Narayan/Birla Mandir is very small. It doesn't have its own parking but has got parking nearby of Birla Mandir charges of which is reasonably low at Rs 10/- pee hour. Idol of Buddha is small but beautiful. It has got very small complex. One can see monk around but Temple is visited by only few people. Mostly those who visit Birla Mandir, they too visit Buddhist Temple.
This is the place where you can also live peacefully. But can't do any advance booking. There also a room with attached bathroom & also a separate rooms & bathroom & also a common room. But food facility. You need to be go gole market or paharganj for eat & shopping.
Nice place relaxing calm positive vibes with hope to joy and kindness situated between Swati hostel and Laxminarayan temple in mandir Marg near to gole market lots of Buddhist monks you can see them chanting there
Very Calm and Peacefull place.
This Buddha Vihara is part of Mahabodhi Society of India and located near Birla Temple. Anyone can directly join them for Meditation on Sunday around 10 A.M. Atmosphere is amazing. Namo Buddhay Jai Bheem
It's a small and peaceful Temple. They offer Vipassana meditation classes every Sunday from 10am to 11.30am. Open to all. It's a perfect place for meditation whenever one feels like. They do have a small bookstore. Parking is available at Birla Temple which is adjacent to it. Neat and clean place.
