We booked a customized seven day trip through Holiday Adventure Tours. We arrived in Delhi and stopped in Agra, Ranthambore, Udaipur, and Jaipur. We drafted our itinerary and a list of places we wanted to hit, and Tarun and our driver, Sanny, gave us very helpful advice about the order of our day, the length of time needed at each location, and where and when to buy tickets to monuments. Sanny was always on time, a very safe driver, and shared information about the culture of India on our long drives. There were a few times when we got stuck needing his help (ex. we found out last minute that our Ranthambore safari driver couldn’t pick us up at our hotel early in the morning) and he jumped in and assisted without complaint. He also always checked in on our long drives to assure we weren’t hungry, that we didn’t need the bathroom, etc. We were very sad to leave him at the end of the trip! Tarun booked us local guides in Agra, Udaipur, and Jaipur. I’d say you only need a guide Agra if you want to see more than the Taj (the Red Fort, etc.), but all are helpful to lead you away from tourist scams and give context to where you’re visiting. Our Jaipur guide was particularly knowledgeable and pleasant. Our notes of advice - wear thick socks everywhere (a lot of religious locations will ask you remove shoes), load up on the roadside chai, and ask for Sanny!
