The best south indian restaurant in Indore. Had to wait to be seated as it was Saturday, but the taste was more than worth the wait. We tried a lot of things on the menu but Ghee podi masala benne & Ghee podi thatte idli were heavenly in taste. The service was very quick even with so much rush. Definitely our favorite restaurant from now on!! I visited here 3 times. Here is my review: - Slow service: I waited 15 to 20 min after placing order of Tomato Rice. When asked, they said rice weren't cooked. They should convey this before taking order. - Food Taste: I tried Ghee podi masala benne. Well cooked, good in taste. Will recommend this dish. But chutney served with dosa has no taste. Try to taste via spoon without mixing anything. You will understand. - Food taste: I tried Ghee Curry Podi Button idli. To be true, taste is totally different. I am not sure what they have added. Price is high as per taste, quantity and quality. Will not recomment this dish. - Plates are not steady. We were eating and it keeps rotating whenever we try to take dosa bite. - Parking available in front. - Ambience was attractive and peaceful. Meal type Dinner Price per person ₹200–400 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

Had a generally good dining experience, their signature ghee podi idlis were absolutely delicious, mouth-watering, and paired beautifully with the accompanying chutneys. The benne cheese masala dosa is highly recommended it was crisp and flavorful. I also appreciated the sambar, which was perfectly balanced with a rich, savory depth. My only critique lies in the ingredient quality the "ghee" used had the distinct, heavy aftertaste of low-quality Dalda. If they upgrade to genuine, high-quality ghee, this place would easily be a 5-star spot. Still worth a visit for the excellent flavors! Was super excited to head to this “Benne Dose” place in Indore. Perhaps I had very high expectations. They have to work harder - If Rameshwaram Cafe in Bangalore and Carnatic Cafe in NCR are 10/10, Benne Batter & Co in Indore is 6/10. Vadas were not fluffy - fried too quickly. Idly and Dosa batter was a bit too sour for my taste. Coriander Chutney and Coconut chutney could be better. Hope you guys improve. Indore needs a Rameshwaram or Carnatic kinda place. All the best. Situated in the bustling heart of Vijay Nagar, clearly aims to capture the trendy, aesthetic cafe vibe that dominates local social media. The ambiance is modern and clean, designed to appeal to the younger crowd that frequents this area. One of the definite highlights of the visit is the staff, they are notably active, friendly, and maintain an energetic pace, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and well-attended to throughout their stay. However, the experience becomes disappointing when the focus shifts to the food, especially given the heavy Instagram promotion claiming to offer an authentic South Indian experience. For anyone who has traveled through South India and tasted the real versions of these dishes, the flavors here fall significantly short of being authentic. It feels as though the brand has prioritized visual marketing over traditional culinary execution, resulting in a menu that looks good on screen but fails to deliver on the palate. We ordered their highly recommended Benne Masala Dosa, which was a major letdown. While the sambhar was actually quite good perhaps the only highlight of the meal the rest of the dish was poorly executed. The potato filling was tasteless, the chutney was just average, and the dosa itself was unevenly cooked. Most notably, the signature benne aka butter that is so prominently featured in their advertisements was nowhere to be seen in the actual serving. We also tried the Thade Idli, which was far from authentic and had a below average taste that didn't justify the hype. Ultimately, this place is a one time visit at best. It may suffice for those who aren't familiar with genuine South Indian flavors and are just looking for a trendy spot to sit, but for those seeking authenticity, it is not recommended. While the service is commendable, the kitchen needs to drastically improve its recipes and cooking consistency to match the bold claims made in its promotions Meal type Dinner Price per person ₹400–600 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Reservation Reservations not required Group size 3-4 people, 5-8 people Recommendation for vegetarians Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings Menu is all vegetarian Parking space Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options Free parking lot, Free street parking

An absolute gem for South Indian food lovers! Benne Batter & Co. serves some of the most authentic and delicious benne dosas I've had. The dosa was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and generously layered with rich, flavorful butter that truly lived up to its name. The chutneys and sambar were fresh, balanced, and complemented every bite perfectly. Their filter coffee was the ideal finish aromatic, smooth, and authentic. What made the experience even better was the warm hospitality, quick service, and clean, inviting ambience. It's refreshing to find a place that focuses equally on taste, quality, and customer experience. If you're in Indore and craving authentic style breakfast or a satisfying South Indian meal, this place is a must visit. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu. Highly recommended! Meal type Brunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had a truly delightful experience at Benne Batter & Co.. If you truly appreciate authentic South Indian cuisine, this place is an absolute must-visit. From the very first bite, you can experience the traditional flavours that feel comforting, soulful, and genuinely authentic. The dosas are beautifully crisp on the outside and soft inside, made from perfectly fermented batter that gives that real South Indian aroma and taste. The benne (butter) adds a rich Karnataka-style touch without overpowering the natural flavours. Their idlis are soft like cotton, served steaming hot, and paired with delicious sambar and freshly prepared chutneys. The sambar is mildly spiced, slightly tangy, and full of vegetables — just like homemade South Indian sambar. The coconut chutney tastes fresh and balanced, not overly sweet or watery, which shows their commitment to authenticity. What I really appreciate is that they have maintained the originality of South Indian recipes instead of altering them for commercial taste. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and true to its roots. And their filter coffee is a MUST TRY! ☕ It is brewed in traditional style — strong, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The rich flavour and classic serving style complete the entire South Indian dining experience beautifully. The ambience is clean and welcoming, perfect for families and friends. Service is quick, and the staff is polite and attentive. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to enjoy authentic, high-quality South Indian food in Indore. Highly recommended! 🙌✨ Add service is too slow And extra chutney portion they are giving one spoon only That point should be improved Meal type Breakfast Price per person ₹1,400–1,600 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Noise level Quiet, easy to talk Group size 3-4 people Recommendation for vegetarians Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings Menu is all vegetarian Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot

We went for a quick brunch here and ordered benne dosa along with thatte idli. The dosa had that perfect crisp, masala filling was subtly spicy, and sambhar tasted really good. The mint chutney served on the side was equally good. The podi masala and ghee topping on thatte idli tasted heavenly. Coconut chutney can be improved. Pricing is genuine and service is quick.
